Here at Winfest we put our player and player safety first. That is why we have a dedicated Customer Support Team which is available all day for recurring questions, doubts and issues. One of the topics which has recently caught our eye was the Source of Wealth (SOW) request. For this reason, we have decided to write a little blog post in order to help our player to understand why we need to request it, what information is needed and a few more interesting things to know.
What is SOW?
SOW refers to the origin of the customer’s entire body of wealth.
Why do we request SOW?
We at Home Gaming Entertainment / Winfest Casino take security, safety and privacy very seriously. We strictly follow rules and regulations and as online casino operating in Europe, we are obliged by law to verify the Source of Wealth of our players. This means you will need to provide us with some proof that shows us where your source of wealth is coming from.
What’s the SOW request process?
SOW requests are done on a “risk based approach” which means that at some stage, you might need to provide us with some documentation about your source of income. This is what we will ask you for:
- Employment contract or payslip
- Sale of property – contract of the sale
- Sale of Securities or shares – confirmation/contract of share/sale or Bank statement with the visible transaction
- Inheritance or will
- Winnings from casino/lotto/betting – Confirmation of the win or Bank statement which shows the transaction
Personal Information and Data protection
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Processing of data means any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
Personal data will solely be processed by Home Gaming Entertainment Limited in case the player has given consent to such processing, the processing is necessary for the provision of the offered services, the processing is performed to fulfil mandatory legal requirements applying to Home Gaming Entertainment Limited, or the processing is required for the pursuit of the legitimate interests of Home Gaming Entertainment Limited, third parties or the public, when such legitimate interest is not overridden by the particular player’s fundamental rights.
